Presenter: Antony Mayfield, Founder, Brilliant Noise

This first hour-long webinar will see Antony present a ‘big picture’ introduction to social media strategy and the digital climate in 2011. It will outline the importance of making PR narratives social, and focus on the way we, as PR practitioners, need to think to make digital work for us, as well as the skills that people and organisations will need in order to prosper.

Antony Mayfield is the founder of Brilliant Noise, a digital strategy consultancy and do-tank, working with major brands, media and marketing agencies. He founded the content and social media teams at iCrossing, which became the largest independent digital marketing firm in the world, before being sold to Hearst Media in 2010. Session 2: The nuts and bolts of running a social media campaign

Date/time: Tuesday, 4th October 2011, 1000-1100 GMT

Presenter: Phil Szomszor, Head of Digital, Citigate Dewe Rogerson

Phil will follow the contextual session above, with a second hour-long session which will look at the tactics and tools at a PR practitioners disposal. It will focus on providing practical advice on all the key elements, from monitoring and engaging with social media, to SEO and content creation. Many of us use Facebook and Twitter, but Phil will show that a one-size-fits-all approach is rarely beneficial, and bring out the pros and cons of smaller social media players, as well as the industry stalwarts.

Phil Szomszor is a director and head of digital at Citigate Dewe Rogerson. At Citigate Phil consults across the agency on social media, advising companies such as TalkTalk, Lloydspharmacy, Primark, Investec and Kwik Fit. He has over 12 years PR and marketing experience, mostly recently working as regional director at tech PR agency Berkeley PR. You can follow Phil on Twitter at and his blog

Both live sessions will be followed by a Q&A session at the close. The accompanying presentations will also be made available to all attendees following the webinars.
