Donate to CAMFED for International Women’s Day and double your donation via PRN

To mark International Women’s Day 2024, George and I are thrilled to be supporting our charity partner CAMFED (Campaign for Female Education) with its new #CountMeIn campaign. The PR Network is match-funding all donations over a 48 hour period up to £5000!

Please give anything you can and we will match-fund it £ for £, $ for $ etc, meaning you are doubling your donation for this incredible charity giving girls in sub-Saharan Africa an education. Let’s unite all of us out there who want to create a more inclusive and equitable world.

CAMFED is a 30-year-old charity which started with a simple mission to pay for 32 girls to go to secondary school in Zimbabwe. Sadly, secondary education in sub-Saharan Africa is not free, and in poor households girls will be deprioritised out of necessity. High school usually takes around four years and with a Leavers Certificate, girls get a ticket to a better future - plus the whole African continent is lifted.

By 2023, CAMFED had put 6.4 million girls through school through a network of partner schools in Zimbabwe, Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia - including CAMFED’s own CEO, Angeline Murimirwa

Beyond the benefit to individual girls and their families, girls’ education is the starting point for securing the rights of women and girls globally, while improving community health and resilience to climate shocks. Sadly, those living in the Third World who are the most vulnerable are also the most at risk from climate change.

As a female-owned company whose team feel passionately about improving opportunities for girls and women, and about creating a sustainable future, the CAMFED mission aligns perfectly with our own values. We therefore chose CAMFED as our main charity beneficiary as we formalised our philanthropic activity as part of becoming a B Corp in June 2023. We're excited to be in a position after 18 years of running our own business to be able to donate some of our profit to helping other women who are less fortunate than us.

Through supporting this new CountMeIn campaign, we hope to help increase awareness and support more African girls through school - beyond the 47 girls we have supported with our initial donations in 2023.

CAMFED’s uplifting new video features 8 champions of inclusion in the CAMFED sisterhood. Check it out today and join CAMFED to inspire inclusion and celebrate all the amazing ways young women are joining forces to lead change in their communities — from promoting girls’ education to protecting the environment.

Please share the video and create your own to share what your education means to you personally and encourage others in your networks to do the same. This will create more awareness for this brilliant charity.
