Back in 2014 we launched (very successfully may we add) the Open University Business School’s Managing My Money course – a free course developed by very clever personal finance academics, to help us all be a little bit better with our own finances. Over the years this and its follow up courses have helped more than 300,000 people.

Why – we hear you cry – is this important now? Because we have just launched Managing My Money for Young Adults – a version of the course designed with 16-18 year olds in mind. And we reckon it’s going to be the biggest launch – both in terms of media interest and potential impact on society – yet!

We’ve got stonkingly scary research findings (over 107,000 16-18 year olds are languishing in debt), we’ve got the OUBS academics to back it up, we’ve got Bobby Seagull of University Challenge fame, and we’ve got a PF expert you may have heard of; MoneySavingExpert’s Martin Lewis.

So far today the Daily Mail have picked it up, as have the BBC and Jazz FM, and the phone is ringing off the hook from broadcasters and newspapers galore. OK, galore might be too strong, but we are contending with some pretty big PF news announced last week.

If your kids are terrible with money, get them on the course. And if they are, it’s most likely your fault, so you should think about doing this one. And you won’t be on your own, we’ll be doing it too. See you all on the other side (when we are millionaires).

Have a great weekend!
